Proposed change of the Club’s name A special general meeting of all members will be held on Thursday 22 March 2018, Ted Summerton Reserve pavilion at 6.00 pm to vote on the following special resolution:
“The Moe Football Club Incorporated change its name to the Moe Football Netball Club Incorporated”
This proposed name change recognises the evolution of the Club to include the sport of netball and properly reflects the diversity of membership, participation and intent.
Who is eligible to vote? A person who is over 16 years of age and is a member of the Club. The membership period is till the 31 March each year so all 2017 paid up members are entitled to exercise a vote.
What is a special resolution? A special resolution is a decision of particular importance made by the Club. Legally, the Club can only make certain decisions by special resolution. This includes the decision change the Club’s name. All voting members must be given at least 21 days’ notice of the proposed special resolution. The notice must state the: • time, date and place where the meeting to vote on the special resolution will be held • proposed resolution in full • intention to propose the resolution as a special resolution. A special resolution will be passed if: • at least 75 per cent of members voting at the meeting (either in person or, if the rules of the association allow, by proxy) vote in its favour, and • any further relevant requirements from the rules have been met.
